I am currently a student at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR), where I am focused on completing my core business requirements while working toward a major in Information Systems. I have always been drawn to the problem-solving aspect of technology, particularly the process of analyzing a situation, considering various solutions, and determining the most effective way to move forward.

This perspective is shaped by a mix of military and professional experience. Serving in the National Guard has taught me the importance of discipline and staying committed to a task until it’s finished. On the professional side, my background in customer service for a mortgage lender gave me a practical look at how much people rely on secure and accurate data systems. It made me realize that when it comes to personal information, the systems behind the scenes need to be both reliable and well-managed.

Because of these experiences, I am aiming for a career as a Digital Forensics Examiner, Trust & Safety Analyst, or in Cyber Threat Intelligence. I have a strong sense of justice, and I want to use my technical skills to investigate digital footprints and protect people’s information. I’m especially interested in the ethics of technology—ensuring that as we build new systems, we are maintaining trust and proactively defending users against emerging threats.

When I’m not focused on school, I spend most of my time on a few specific hobbies. I’ve always liked working with ceramics and the process of building things with clay. I’m also into traveling, reading, and gaming—basically anything that’s engaging or gives me a different perspective on things. Long-term, the plan is to move up to Washington. I want a place by the water where I can be outdoors as much as possible while still building a career in the tech industry.
